About Us

logoThe Royal Meteorological Society is the Learned and Professional Society for anyone whose profession or interests are connected with weather. Anyone with an interest in the weather and climate can join the Royal Meteorological Society. The Society is made up of enthusiasts, practitioners, students, teachers and scientists from across the world and is based in the UK.

MetLink is the flagship dedicated educational website of the Society launched in early 2010, with weather and climate resources aimed at primary and secondary school teachers, students, teenagers, children and the general public.

Resources include lesson plans, powerpoint presentations, experiments and demonstrations and after school club activities.

New material will be uploaded at frequent intervals. Any questions, comments on the website or suggestions for materials to be produced would be welcomed and should be directed to the Head of Education on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. MetLink is the flagship education portal of the Royal Meteorological Society

We provide teachers, students, meteorologists and the general public with information about teaching weather and climate, teacher development, climate change and accreditation.

On this site you will find teaching materials including powerpoint presentations and lesson plans, information about becoming a meteorologist, how to obtain chartered status and many more things.

You will also find general information for teaching weather, curriculum links, information about school and junior membership and how to book a "Meteorology Ambassador" to come and talk to your class
