Bor School, Sweden

Hi Malcolm
It is nice to participate this year too! This is in very short what happened in our part of Sweden earlier this year.
Saturday 8 January 2005 an intense low pressure passed southern Scandinavia eastwards.
We were struck by a severe storm with gusts up to 42-45 m/s. It was a disaster for great areas of forests in southern Sweden. As many as 170 millions trees were fallen down.Fifteen people were killed. The power supply and telecommunication networks were down for quite many days. In our area there are still 12 000 houses lacking electricity (after three weeks).
Here are some pictures of what happened - I hope this will be interesting.
Best wishes
Christer

The younger pupils at Bor School really enjoy days with snow and sun. The pic is from the school's playground. (2/3/05)
